Research in this area aims at developing technological platforms featuring educational elements and supporting a sustainable change in health-related behavior, linking coaching techniques to serious game principles. Notably, projects are aimed at patients with chronic illnesses or health problems requiring their active participation in the treatment.
To achieve this a multi-disciplinary team, experienced in positive psychology, behavioral science, learning theories and information technology and gamification, works on developing tools leading patients to actively engage with the treatment targets by introducing playful, interactive features aimed at facilitating the learning process.
Currently, we are developing an educational game aimed at teaching how to manage stress to children from 7 to 13 years old. I am participating in this project as a Scientific Leader, in close cooperation with Technical Leader Athos Antoniades, alongside science education experts and child psychologists.
